2007 - 2008 Yards of the Month

Qualifying Rules and Awards

The award will be given from May through September.

1. The yard and house, all that is visible from the street, must be well maintained and in compliance with the Afton Downs Covenants. The yard must be neat, mowed (grass), and trimmed (shrubbery). Limit use of potted plants, hanging baskets, and statues to avoid a cluttered look.
2. Trash bins (blue and red recycle bins are recyclable trash bins) must not be on porches or visible from the street.
3. Limit items kept on porches. Keep it simple and clean. Furniture on the porch and statuary are discouraged, but if present, they must be maintained--clean and painted.
4. Awards:
   1. Once a month, the Board will choose the winner at their discretion.
   2. All residences in Afton Downs are eligible to win. Each residence is eligible to win only one month per season.
   3. The Yard-of-the-Month sign will be placed in the yard for at least two weeks.
   4. A photograph of the yard and house will be placed in the Afton Downs newsletter (as long as the letter is published that month).
   5. The owner/renter will be given a $25 gift card to The Home Depot. Condition to receive the gift card--the owner/resident must be a current member of the ADHA (dues paid for current year).
